Mickey Mouse is a global icon and is now making his mark in the world of video games with the Wii exclusive release of Disney Epic Mickey. The video game console was one of the last entertainment platforms that Mickey had not yet conquered. So, to bring this global icon to the forefront of the gaming world, Disney Interactive Studios asked video game maverick Warren Spector to lead this initiative. Warren’s personal passion for Disney and his team at Junction Point Studios strived to create a Mickey Mouse game that had true heart and epic story telling.
As the game began to generate buzz with Disney fans and video game enthusiasts, the team at Disney Interactive Studios realized that there was another story to be told. With 1K Studios deep understanding of the great Disney legacy and our ability to bring documentary stories to mass audiences, we were asked to come on board and help tell the story behind the story.
The team at 1K Studios got deeply involved with the Disney Epic Mickey team, at Disney Interactive Studios, and the creative team at Junction Point Studios in order to showcase the passion behind this monumental project. Covering everything from The Anatomy of the Animation, to The Story of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, 1K Studios gave a voice to the Disney Epic Mickey team and helped to increase awareness about the game through several in-depth viral videos that generated over two-hundred thousand views on popular sites like IGN, YouTube and Facebook.

To maximize the amount of in-depth content that was created throughout the process, Disney Interactive Studios decided to release an Ultimate Collectors Edition of Disney Epic Mickey. 1K Studios was again asked to strategically work with the Disney Interactive Studios team to produce new video content, create a concept art gallery and build a technically sound user experience for the companion DVD.
Disney Epic Mickey sold more than 1.3 million copies in its first month, making it one of the top grossing video game titles of 2010.
The video playing on this site is streaming from the Disney Epic Mickey Channel. To watch all the videos, go to the Disney Epic Mickey Channel on YouTube.
